This is the solstice, the still point

of the sun, its cusp and midnight,

the year’s threshold

and unlocking, where the past

lets go of and becomes the future;

the place of caught breath, the door

of a vanished house left ajar.

– Margaret Atwood from ‘Shapechangers in Winter’

In Latin, solstice ultimately derives from sōlstitium, which comes from the parts sōl, “sun,” and sistere, “to stand still.” Sōlstitium literally translates to “the standing still of the sun.” The sun standing still is a powerful metaphor to use as an invitation to reflect on the energy available to us at the Winter Solstice. In winter everything lies dormant in the silent earth, it is a sacred time of rest and reflection before the awakening and the slow build toward brighter days.

Join Cindy and Jennifer as they hold space for you to embrace winter’s darkness and dormancy that mirrors the cycles and rhythms of personal growth and change. Using both Neurobiological teachings and Reiki we will create a place of rest and reflection, while honoring and acknowledging the events and accompanying narratives of your life over the past year. We look forward to supporting your deepest contemplation and reflection on all you have seen, all you have been, and all you are.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
