Workshop details

Session 1: Job Search Marketing 101 (Personal Branding, Resumes and, yes, Cover Letters)

Wednesday, April 10, 6:30-8:30 pm

Cost: $75

Do you struggle with the question, “Tell me about yourself?” Come learn what personal branding is and how to build a personal brand statement, aka – a 30-second commercial, that represents you. Learn about resume formats that work and get your questions answered about cover letters. We’ll chat a bit about networking and go through a job search action plan checklist.

Session 2:  Offline Job Search – Networking

Wednesday, April 17, 6:30-8:30pm

Cost: $75

We all know the statistic. Over 70% of all work opportunities are found through connections. This workshop teaches you how to stop the fear of networking, what to do, what to say, where to go and how to keep your network alive. Walk away with practical tools that take the fear out of networking.

Session 3: Online Job Search – LinkedIn and other job search tools

Wednesday, April 24, 6:30-8:30pm

Cost: $75

Do you know how to play the online job search game? How about how to use LinkedIn?  This workshop will cover a job search action plan and provide tips and tricks for a successful online search. There will be a short tutorial on LinkedIn as well so feel free to bring your laptop (wifi not guaranteed).

Session 4:  Interviewing

Wednesday, May 1, 6:30-8:30pm

Cost: $75

Do you struggle with job interviewing? Come learn an easy-to-remember, four-part interview process that you can apply in all types of interviewing situations — from HR phone screens to panel and group interviews. We will also discuss pre-interview and post-interview strategies. We will also role play a mock interview.

Conference room is located on the first floor in the main hall.

There is a minimum of five (5) participants required for each session. If fewer than five (5) participants register, the session will be cancelled and the full cost of the session will be refunded.
